Roy Stone & Performance

Roy is an old friend of mine who I hadn’t seen in quite a while. I bumped into him at the Woodborough Wedding Fayre at the end of last year when he walked and set up his stall next to mine. Turns out that he has been performing at events, parties and weddings for the last couple of years. A few weeks later he asked me to take some new promo photos for his website and other materials, which I was happy to do.

If your looking for a cracking band or performer for your wedding etc, you should check ROY STONE & PERFORMANCE out. They’ve got a great repertoire, my personal favourite is their version of “Make Me Smile (Come up and See Me)

Sheldene & André [Nottingham Council House]

Sheldene & André’s wedding was a small affair at the Council House, with just some close friends in attendance. Didn’t stop the nerves though for both of them. It all went very smoothly though, even when the Lord Mayor stopped by in the middle of the photoshoot.

This is is the first time I had shot a wedding at the Nottingham Registry Office since it moved to the Nottingham Council House and the nice thing is that there are now lots of place’s in the building to get some lovely photos of the couple and wedding party.

Katie & Gary [St. Patrick's Church, Nuthall]

An Autumn wedding on an exceptionally fine day in the perfectly formed St. Patricks, a small church in Nuthall. Who could ask for anything more.

Family and guests filled up the church, having arrived from the Three Ponds or on the London Transport Routemaster, leaving just enough room for the Bride and Father to walk up the isle.

After the ceremony, everyone decamped to the Gateway for drinks and the wedding breakfast.

All round a good day.

Gemma & Luke [All Saint's Church, Ripley]

The Wedding day for Gemma & Luke took place in the Derbyshire town of Ripley at All Saint’s Church. Luke’s Best Men decided he wasn’t go to have any easy day, whilst Gemma’s Bridesmaids kept eveybody organised. The anticipation from guest’s was palpable. A lot of humour was reflected in the ceremony and continued for the rest of the day.

Gemma & Luke departed the church for their reception in a lovely, but very slow, vintage car….

Lucy & James [Hardwick Hall]

Lucy & James wedding was held at the historic Hardwick Hall, an impressive 16th Century stately home, run by the National Trust. With the wedding held in the Entrance Hall and the drinks on the Colonnade, it was a perfect venue for their late summer wedding with family and friends.

The interior with it’s original Elizabethan tapestries and furniture made for an amazing backdrop.

Marie & Ed [St. Mary's, Bottesford & Belton Woods]

The weather dosen’t matter, which was a good job for Marie & Ed’s wedding. In the striking confines of St. Mary’s in Bottesford their family and friends congregated to witness their wedding and moved their celebrations over to Belton Woods Hotel, on the edge of Grantham.

Monique & Russell [All Saint's Church & The Goosedale Centre]

With many family and friends travelling from across the country for the wedding, Monique had a strategy to make sure everyone was on time…And it worked. The wedding took place at All Saint’s, a grade II listed church in the heart of the Arboretum in Nottingham city centre. All though not a small church, it has an intimate feel, with an altar that lights up when the sun falls through the stained glass windows.

After the Wedding ceremony, everyone made their way to the Goosedale Centre in Papplewick on the edge of the city. With it’s views over the countryside and it’s lovely grounds in is a great place to relax and celebrate the wedding.

Sarah & Seb [St Mary's, The Lace Market]

St Mary’s the Virgin in the Lace Market is one of the church jewels in the City Centre. The high windows of this 15th century church allow light to pour and create a striking & dramatic setting. It was no surprise that Sarah & Seb where keen to get married there and with such a bright day the church was beautifully lit.

Sarah entered the church with her bridal party from the West Entrance walking the length of the Nave to the Chancel where her’s and Seb’s family and friends waited. After the ceremony, everyone headed down to The Riverbank at Trent Bridge for a relaxed evening of entertainment. That was of course after the speeches….

Louise & Greg [Church of the Holy Cross, Eppestone]

What only seems a few short weeks ago I met up with Louise & Greg for a Pre Wedding shoot at the cricket ground near their home. Their wedding day was at the lovely village church of The Church of the Holy Cross, Eppestone. A small, intimate venue that was packed out with family & friends. The day had started overcast, but shortly before the wedding the skies clear.

After the ceremony, everyone headed over to Tom Brown Brassiere in Gunthorpe to continue their celebrations.

Sara & Craig [Christ the King & Horsley Lodge, Derbyshire]

I first met Sara & Craig back in March for a pre wedding shoot. They had a pretty busy year planned already, with their wedding being the culmination of those plans. 6 months later their plans delivered (and some unexpected events too), their wedding day took place. And it was a lovely day for everyone.

Their Wedding Ceremony took place at Christ the King Church in Alfreton, followed by their Reception at Horsley Lodge Gulf Club set in the expanses of the Derbyshire countryside.

Elaine & Neil’s Wedding at Holme Pierrpont Hall was on a lovely summer day. We had visited a couple of months before to do a pre wedding shoot. The Medieval Lodgings was perfect or the wedding ceremony. With it’s brick and wood interior and the light pouring in from the windows it created a intimate atmosphere for the couple and their family & friends. The wedding breakfast and reception was spread across thee grounds of the Hall and a good time was had by all.

Melissa & Ben [Southwell Minster, Southwell]

An excellent summer day for the wedding of Melissa & Ben, their wedding a transatlantic affair with many members of Melissa’s family arriving for the States. The guests really enjoyed the the historic setting of Southwell Minster, but probably not as much as I did.
